I am not Frodo!

Hi, I am Caleb, I am fourteen. I identify with the unseelie sidhe, a friends Mom did a birth chart on me and she said I was an elemental, so I guess that explains the fey part. I consider myself unseelie because I prefer to practice the darker magicks. My fey nature is vampiric, so that kind of rules out the seelie fey. I actually don't have the longing to go home, because I feel that I need to wait here for something. I have the feeling that I am going to be one of the last few to leave. LOL, despite the fey nature, I am allergic to silver not iron, so I guess I am all messed up.

Thanks for having me here, I look forward to this place.

Lol, Frodo? Frodo was a hobbit, not a sidhe...

So tell us some more about yourself, such as:

How is it you first came to identify with otherkin?
How did you learn there were others out there that felt different in the same way?
How is it you feel the connection to the sidhe as opposed to another race or culture?
As you're quite young for those who Awaken (though it's not unheard of as I myself did at a young age), tell us a little about that as well...

Also, fourteen is fairly young to be playing with magick. If indeed you truly are- while walking the darker path no less- just be careful. I'm not here to lecture you on it or all that, but I do remember doing stupid things myself at that age, and just trying to share some wisdom from my own stoopids ;]

Great to have you here at the comm, hun.

LOL, I know it was a joke about the rules here saying don't come in saying that you are Frodo! (See I read the rules.)

How is it you first came to identify with otherkin? This one is actually hard to say, I have always felt a little odd, not quite human. My my friends mom showed me i was an elemental, it just kind of made sense as to what I was feeling.

How did you learn there were others out there that felt different in the same way? LOL, this one is easy, my city has a large pagan population, I have been going to pagan gathering since I was four, I just always took it for granted that their were otherkin, and a whole lot of things out there.

How is it you feel the connection to the sidhe as opposed to another race or culture? That one's hard to explain, I just know. there is like no other way to explain it. I know I am an Unseelie Sidhe.

As you're quite young for those who Awaken (though it's not unheard of as I myself did at a young age), tell us a little about that as well... I was actually in a deep trance meditation at one point, I kept pulling at these veils pulling them out of my way. Then all of a sudden time just kind of felt like it stopped around me. I could feel my higher self. I felt and realized a whole bunch of things then, kind of indescribable, I guess because everyones individual perception of the awakening experience is different.

Also, fourteen is fairly young to be playing with magick. If indeed you truly are- I hope that you will reserve judgement on this until you see that I speak the truth by my written words and actions here.

Thank you for this, I wanted to do a better introduction, but I didn't sleep last night and was unsure of what to write.
Lol, good to know you read the rules ;] Although I did miss the connection myself until you 'splained, heh.

You said your friend's mother showed you that you were an elemental... do you mind if I ask how? I have this weird scene of some sceance kinda thing going on, but I highly doubt that's how it happened, lol.

That's awesome that you've been able to be so open about your beliefs. Unfortunately, New England tends to be a bit closed-minded for the most part, until you get up to Salem, Massachusetts, but then you get to deal with the cranks that are in it simply because it's "cool" or for the money. ::shrugs:: It's a tough balancing act at times to figure out who's serious and who's not.

...I just know... I know I am an Unseelie Sidhe.
::nods:: some people do. For me, it took a bit to bang out the memories of everything that was cropping up and what the time frames were. Really confusing, too. Basically, when I started awakening, it was amped due to the fact that I'd met a mate that I've been with almost every life I've lived. Lotsa memories= brain into overload, heh. It worked out in the end, and he was actually very helpful to ping things off of as a sounding board.

Growing up in a family that's more aware of magical things than most definitely helps. It also explains why you're so much more open to things at such a young age. Personally, I say my own stubborn streak that I've carried through the ages was what wouldn't let me stay mundane, lol. It took three tries, but I suppose it's the whole, "third time's the charm" deal, right?

It makes me a bit more comfortable to know that you've obviously grown up in a house that's not unaware of the dangers that magick can present. Which is why I was a bit concerned when you had said that you prefer to practice the darker magicks. Unfortunately, it's all too common nowadays to have younger ones buying the book, Witchcraft for Dummies, saying a few incantations while playing with a ouija board and then believing that they're a high priest/ess of their own coven. Which is another rant I could go off on in itself, heh. But yeah, knowing that you've grown up in an environment that is both Aware and Informed of the different dangers magick brings with itself definitely puts my mind at ease.

Last- but definitely not least- Know that I'm not making a prejudice judgment on you simply because of your age. Having Awoken and been called to the pagan path at the age that you are now, I do realize that not every kid out there is simply fluff n' stuff. Sometimes my concern can come off as incredulity, but believe me, it's not always the case (although I do tend to be a bit skeptical at times).

Thanks again for joining the comm, and hopefully it'll be taking off again quite soon =] If you've any questions, comments or ideas, feel free to write them down here or e-mail me at any time.

LOL! 'witchcraft for dummies'

I prefer Kenneth Grant

I have Cults of the Shadow, Nightside of Eden
Outside the Circles of Time, Hecate's Fountain,
Outer Gateways,,Beyond the Mauve Zone
which are all really great books by him. I don't limit myself there of course, he is just one of my favorites of occult writers.

My friends mother did a birth chart on me. No seance or anything weird. If you have elements that are missing from your natal chart you are considered and elemental by high-mages.

That's okay you can ask away, if I feel really uncomfortable about answering something I'll tell you.
Heh. You laugh, but it's an actual book out there. Makes my brain twitch every time I see it, too.

My two favorite occult authors are Scott Cunningham and Raven Grimassi. They're both awesome, quite adept, and very easy for the newbie to read as well.

Never heard that about the natal charts though... now I'm going to have to go back and see what mine says, lol.
Earth magick, that's cool. I adapt little pieces of that to me when it suits me.
Lol, I'm seelie, what can I say.

Add that with my Native American heritage... and yeah. You can tell why the elven part feels right at home with it all.
Awesome, Native American fey!

I'm Welsh.
Lol, so am I.

German, Austrian, Polish, French, Abenaki Native American, English, Welsh, Irish, and I've heard tell that there was some Inuit and Scottish ancestry in there as well, though I've not found out for certain.

I feel like I'm missing something, but I think that's it O.O
Yikes! A true American! That;s cool. My parents are only first/second generation, so my blood is not as interesting as yours.
Lol. 'Tis why they've called it the Melting Pot.

My Grams is Austrian-German and my Gramps was Polish... everything else comes from my mother's side.
A friend of mine like the term 'tossed salad' a little of this tossed in a little of that.
